Privacy Policy

contentintech (“we”, “us”) runs contentintech.com — free learning, practice and career tools for students and early-career engineers. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, and how you can see, change or delete it. In short: we collect only what the features need, we don’t sell data or show ads, and you can delete your account and everything in it at any time.

What we collect

Most of the site works without an account. We collect the following only when you use the feature involved.

  • Account. Your email address and a password when you sign up. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only as a secure hash — we never see them. We also keep when the account was created and when you last signed in.
  • Profile (optional). Anything you add on the Profile & settings page: name, headline, college, degree, branch, graduation year, city, target role, LinkedIn/GitHub/portfolio links and a short bio.
  • What you save while signed in. Practice problems you mark solved, roadmap skills you check off, best quiz scores, your application tracker (companies, roles, dates, next steps and any notes you write), your résumé from the résumé builder, and code you write in practice editors.
  • Interview experiences you choose to submit on a company prep page.
  • Email-only sign-ups. Your email if you subscribe to a newsletter (confirmed by a link we send you) or request a handbook or the Pro waitlist.
  • Content you send to a tool. Text or files you submit to AI features (résumé review, LinkedIn tools, AI chat, video notes, repo search), code you run in the online editors, and video links you summarise. These are processed to produce your result and are not stored on our side unless you save them (for example, your résumé). The PDF, image and developer tools run entirely in your browser — those files are never uploaded.
  • Technical data. Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and basic request details (page or endpoint, time, browser type) in routine logs, used for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting. We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free page analytics that report aggregate visits, not individuals.

How we use it

  • To run the features you use — keep you signed in, save and sync your progress across devices, show your tracker, and so on.
  • To send emails you asked for: account confirmation and password resets, and newsletters you subscribed to.
  • To keep the service secure and working: preventing abuse, rate-limiting expensive features, and fixing errors.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful so we can improve them.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or build advertising profiles.

What is public

Almost nothing. Your profile, progress, tracker, résumé and drafts are private to your account. The one exception is an interview experience: if you submit one and we approve it, it is shown on that company’s prep page with your profile name — or as “Anonymous” if you chose that when submitting. Your email address is never shown.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. Each gets only what its job needs:

  • Supabase — our database and sign-in provider; stores your account and saved data, and sends account emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset).
  • Vercel — hosts the website and API, and provides the cookie-free analytics.
  • Groq — runs the AI model behind our AI features; receives the text you submit to them.
  • Resend — delivers newsletters and other emails you signed up for; receives your email address and the message.
  • Wandbox — compiles and runs code when you press Run in an online editor; receives that code.
  • YouTube — embedded videos load from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode where we can), and video notes fetch a video’s transcript.
  • Pollinations — generates LinkedIn banner images from the prompt you enter.
  • Clearbit — company logos on the jobs board load from Clearbit’s logo service in your browser.

Some of these providers process data outside India. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Sign-in cookies (sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token) keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary and are removed when you sign out.
  • Local storage in your browser holds your theme, which announcements you’ve read, and — when you’re signed out — your progress, tracker and drafts, so the site works without an account. When you sign in, that local data is copied into your account; when you sign out, the account copy is cleared from the browser.

We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Account data is kept until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile, progress, tracker, résumé, drafts and interview experiences immediately.
  • Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe (every email has a link).
  • Handbook and waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them.
  • Server logs and provider backups are kept for a limited period under those providers’ retention settings, then deleted.

Your choices and rights

  • See and edit your profile at Profile & settings; your saved data is visible where you use it, and the application tracker can be exported as CSV.
  • Delete your account and all its data yourself, from the same page.
  • Unsubscribe from any newsletter with the link in the email.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of anything not covered above, or raise a grievance, by emailing contact@contentintech.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. These rights include those under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS. Your saved data is readable only through our server, which checks who you are on every request and only ever returns your own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don’t use elsewhere, and tell us at contact@contentintech.com if you notice anything wrong.

Age

contentintech is intended for students and professionals aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please use it with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and its effective date. For significant changes we’ll also note it in the site’s announcements.
